Level change deadline is 17 February 2012
Members of Levels 125, 167, 187 or 200 of the BAE Systems Pension Scheme have an annual opportunity to choose a level of pension provision that suits their changing circumstances.
The flexible terms of the Scheme allow you to change your Base Pension Level between Levels 125, 167, 187 or 200 and therefore the rate of member contribution you make towards your pension between 7.29%, 9.29%, 11.29% and 12.59%. This flexibility is subject to certain restrictions such as not exceeding the Scheme Maximum at Normal Retirement Date.
We want to remind you about this now, so that you have time to tell us if you wish to apply to change your pension level.
If you would like to apply to change your Base Pension Level from 6 April 2012, the relevant form is available from the forms section of this website. Although the team accepts completed forms all year round, the changes will only take place from the April following receipt of the form.
The best level for you will depend on your personal situation - further details about Scheme benefits can be found in the Scheme booklet, which you can view on this pensions website.
To change your Base Pension Level for April 2012, forms must be received by the Pensions Service Centre no later than 5pm on 17 February 2012.
Once your application has been checked, we will be in touch with you to let you know whether your level change application has been successful, or if you are unable to change to the level you wish due to the Scheme Maximum restriction.
