Death with Deferred Benefits

A random set of BAE images If you leave the Scheme and die before your pension starts, Adult Dependant’s and Children’s Pensions will be payable as if you had retired on the day before your death.

For female Crown Service members the pension will be based on Pensionable Service after 1 January 1985 only.

In addition, for Crown Service members, a lump sum will also be payable equal to the standard tax free cash sum you would have received if you had retired on the day before your death.

For 1984 members a tax free cash lump sum is payable equal to the maximum amount obtainable by exchanging pension for tax free cash within HMRC limits.

For BMARC members a lump sum equal to member’s contributions is payable.
